Writing Prompt for Kids & Teens #43 – More Poetry Recordings

Video Posted on Updated on

My last set of writing prompts were two poetry readings done by Dame Judi Dench and Jeremy Irons. This set are done by Helena Bonham Carter and Tom Hiddleston (yes, “Loki” from the Marvel series of movies: Thor, The Avengers and Thor: The Dark World).

There is an awesome new app for poetry lovers of all ages called iF Poems. You can find it on the Apple app store for only $0.99. I love it because it has poems grouped by either poets, age ranges or topics. There is a feature to record yourself reading the poems or you can listen to recordings by several actors: Helena Bonham Carter, Billy Nighy, Harry Enfield and Tom Hiddleston. I highly recommend the app for parents, kids, teens, teachers or any poetry lover. It’s fantastic.

For now, please enjoy these two readings:

I’ve been listening to poetry readings on YouTube lately. I found these beautifully read pieces that actually motivated me to write several poems. They make great writing prompts, so here are just two. I hope to add a few more in the next few weeks.

‘Sonnet 43 from the Portuguese’ by Elizabeth Barrett Browning  read by Dame Judi Dench

‘Daffodils’ by William Wordsworth read by Jeremy Irons
