Writing Prompt for Kids & Teens #35

Posted on

A BLAST from the PAST!  As a kid, I loved listening to the music that my mom enjoyed when she was growing up.  That meant that I got to know a lot of music from the 50’s and 60’s.  I was thinking about all of those songs that made us dance in the car or in the house, or almost wherever we heard it.  So here are a few links to old songs to use while you’re writing.

“Come Go With Me” by the Del-Vikings (Photo from http://www.bsnpubs.com)

“I Can’t Get Next to You” by The Temptations (Photo from en.wikipedia.org)

“La Bomba” by Ritchie Valens (Photo from http://www.biography.com)

“Barbara Ann” by the Beach Boys (Photo from http://www.last.fm)

mmm…I have to throw this one from the 70’s in for good measure. I never liked this song until my best friend told me about how she and her sister-in-law tormented her brother by singing along to it when it came on the radio one day.  I immediately began to love it and still do, only because of the story:

“September” by Earth, Wind & Fire (Photo from http://www.ohm1.com)

Ok everyone, have fun!
